Dragon And Maiden Sculpture

A serpent-necked dragon rears from a sweeping fan of membrane, half guardian, half figurehead. The sculpt shows a long, arching neck topped by a small crested head with a blunt, craggy snout, the throat textured with rows of overlapping scales that soften into smoother flanks. Behind and below the neck a broad webbed membrane spreads outward like a great shell or half-furled wing, its ribs radiating in deep folds that catch the light. Tucked against the base of the neck stands a slim human figure, arms folded across the chest, head tipped up toward the beast — a quiet companion that gives the piece both its scale and its story. This is a display sculpture for fantasy shelves, a dungeon master's table or a windowsill where the fanned web can throw long shadows. It reads equally well as raw resin, primed grey, or fully painted with a translucent wash over the membrane. Print notes: • Resin (SLA/MSLA) is the natural choice — it holds the head crest, scale rows and the figure's face far better than filament. • Support the underside of the fanned membrane and the overhangs beneath the chin and folded arms; that web is the trickiest span. • Angle the model slightly so the membrane drains and cures evenly rather than trapping resin in the deep folds. • Hollow the solid base and add drain holes to save material and stop the model suction-cupping to the plate.
