Baroque Acanthus Medallion Crest

A burst of baroque acanthus that spreads like a pair of wings around an open medallion. This is a symmetrical decorative onlay in full carved-timber style: leafy scrolls unfurl outward from a central knot at the top, curling into tight volutes at each wing tip, while a ring-shaped void sits at the heart of the design, ready to frame a clock, a boss or a small mirror. Below it, two ribbons cross and cascade into a dripping palmette pendant. It is exuberant, high-relief and unmistakably classical. Made for CNC routers and decorative woodworkers, it is the kind of crest that lifts a plain surface: the cresting on a mirror or headboard, the apron of a cabinet, a door or overmantel header, or a standalone wall ornament. Cut and print notes: • On a CNC, rough with an end mill then finish the scrollwork with a tapered ball-nose bit for clean, flowing troughs. • Machine from close-grained hardwood, MDF or hard tooling foam; the symmetry lets you mirror one toolpath for both halves. • 3D printing works too — orient the face upward and slow the outer walls to hold the leaf edges. • Finish with stain, paint or gilding; a dark glaze wiped into the recesses makes the relief pop.
