Waving Bearded Garden Gnome

A cheery little gnome throws up one hand in a permanent hello. Sculpted fully in the round, this storybook fellow has the whole kit: a tall floppy pointed cap, a broad nose peeking over an enormous combed beard, a belted jacket cinched at the waist and stubby boots planted wide. His raised arm and open palm give him a friendly, animated stance, while the deep grooves of the beard and the soft folds of the coat catch light nicely once finished. He belongs in the flower bed, on the porch step or on a shelf indoors — a nostalgic gift for a keen gardener or anyone who likes a little whimsy by the front door. Making notes • Print upright: the pointed hat forms a natural top so overhangs stay minimal, though the waving arm benefits from a light support under the elbow. • Chunky, rounded volumes mean he scales cleanly — enlarge him into a real doorstep guardian or shrink him for a fairy-garden crowd. • In resin, a 0.05 mm layer keeps the beard strands and belt buckle sharp; in filament, 0.12-0.16 mm is plenty for the smooth surfaces. • For outdoor life, prime and use a UV-stable exterior paint, then a matte sealer so the whites of the beard don't yellow in the sun.
