Description

A tall-hatted garden gnome with a beard down to his boots. Whatever the file code suggests, the model itself is a stout carved gnome: a long conical cap tapering to a point, a broad crinkled face with heavy brow and rounded nose, and an enormous flowing beard carved in vertical strands that spills over the belly and hides all but the tips of two little boots at the base. He stands squat and solid, the classic storybook dwarf-in-the-garden pose, all rounded volumes and cosy proportions. He makes a charming printed ornament for a windowsill, plant pot, shelf or actual flowerbed, and prints as a single closed figure with a flat-ish underside so he stands on his own without a separate base. Size him up as a real garden statue or down as a fairy-garden or terrarium accent. Print notes • Print vertically, hat pointing up: the beard and body self-support well and the seam runs down the sides where it's easy to hide. • FDM in PLA is fine indoors; use PETG or ASA and a solid infill (20%+) if he'll live outside in the weather. • If you want the crispest face, resin gives the sharpest brow and beard strands; otherwise 0.12mm FDM layers read nicely under paint. • Prime, then paint the traditional way — red hat, ruddy cheeks, white beard, brown boots — or leave it in a single stone or bronze tone for a cast-statue effect.
