Description

An openwork band woven from tumbling little rings and one bold bloom. The surface is a lattice of overlapping oval loops — almost chainmail, almost pebbles — pierced right through so light passes clean across the band, and on one side a five-petal flower rises in fuller relief. The rims are left as smooth, clean edges top and bottom. At this proportion it is a natural napkin ring, but the same cylinder works as a candle collar, a tea-light surround, a posy-vase sleeve, or a decorative cuff around a plain pot. A set of them dresses a table for a wedding or a dinner party. Print notes • The pierced walls are the whole point, so print on resin for crisp holes, or FDM at a fine layer height with a slow outer-wall speed to keep the loops clean. • Stand it on one rim; the geometry is self-supporting, with no supports needed inside the band. • Keep a two-perimeter minimum so the thin loops stay strong — bump the walls up if it feels fragile in hand. • On CNC this would be an indexed rotary / 4-axis job; on a laser you could reinterpret the loop lattice as a flat wrap cut from veneer.
