Description

A decorative pull handle that turns a mundane drawer or door into something worth reaching for. The design pairs a slim tapered tang at one end with a rounded ring terminal at the other, and between them a raised leaf-and-scroll motif sweeps across the grip. The scrollwork is genuinely pierced, with a cutaway window revealing a row of carved bead pips, so light and shadow play through the openwork. The lower render shows the plain reverse, confirming a flat mounting face that sits cleanly against timber. This is a piece for furniture makers and restorers: dresser and cabinet drawers, a wardrobe, a bureau fall-front, or a bell-pull style feature handle. The ring end also lends itself to a leather or cord tassel. Cutting and finishing notes • Ideal as a 2.5D relief carve in hardwood such as oak, walnut or cherry; run a roughing pass then a fine ball-nose finishing pass to round the scroll and clean the pierced pocket. • If you fully pierce the openwork, secure the blank with tabs or a vacuum bed so the cut island cannot lift into the bit. • Keep grain running along the length for strength through the narrow tang. • For a 3D print, lay it flat with the decorated face up and print supportless; a light sand and a wax or oil finish reads convincingly as carved wood. • Mount with a countersunk screw through the tang and the ring for a period, hand-forged look.
