Rolling Wave Pattern Band Ring

A cylindrical band wrapped in an endless run of overlapping loops, like surf frozen into relief. Shown as two views of the same design, this is a wide ring or napkin-band whose entire outer surface is covered by a continuous scalloped wave: rows of curved strokes that overlap and roll into one another, each carrying a small pierced dot at its base. The effect is a hypnotic, braided ripple that circles the band with no visible seam, catching light along every crest and shadow in every trough. Depending on scale it reads as a chunky bangle, a decorative napkin ring or a short curtain-pole collar. The all-over pattern means it looks resolved from any rotation, and a set of them lined up makes a satisfying rhythmic display for a dinner table. Print notes: • Print standing on the flat rim so the wave relief needs no supports and the layer lines run cleanly around the band. • The little pierced dots benefit from a fine nozzle or resin for a crisp bore. • Resize the diameter to suit its job: slim for a napkin, wider for a wrist. • A satin or metallic finish really brings out the woven, overlapping ridges.
