Classical Profile Cameo Pendant Plaque

A youthful classical head lifted from the panel in deep-cut profile. The relief shows a young man's head in strict profile facing right, framed inside a raised rectangular border and topped by an integrated hanging loop. It's sculpted in the spirit of Greco-Roman statuary — think Michelangelo's David, or an antique carved cameo — and the drama is all in the hair: a dense mass of deeply undercut curls tumbling from the crown down past the ear, each lock modelled almost in the round against the smooth planes of the cheek, the straight nose and the strong jaw. The bust breaks off cleanly at the collarbone, standing proud of a recessed sanded field so the whole head reads like a cameo raised out of its plaque. It's a ready-to-cut ornament for CNC routers and relief-capable printers — hang it as a wall cameo, mount it on a plinth, inlay it into furniture or a door panel, or scale it right down as a pendant keepsake. CNC / print notes • The deep curl undercuts want a fine ball-nose finishing pass (1–2 mm) after roughing; keep the stepover tight to hold each strand. • On an FDM or resin printer, lay the flat back on the bed and print face-up; resin captures the hair best. • Walnut, cherry or maple carve cleanly at this depth; back the stock to reduce tear-out on the curls. • Seal and wax carved timber, or prime and shade a print for an aged-stone finish.
