Description

A teardrop of lace-like carving, pierced right through so light passes behind it. The image is a warm sandstone-toned render of an openwork pendant shaped like a plump leaf or paisley drop, finished with a ribbon-style loop at the top for hanging. Its whole face is a dense tapestry of pierced ornament: six-petal flowers with faceted centres sit among rings, small pentagon tiles and a honeycomb of oval cut-outs, with a single blossom crowning the neck where the bail begins. Nothing is left flat, every element is rounded and raised, so the piece catches light along hundreds of tiny edges. It suits jewellery-scale resin printing as a statement pendant or hanging charm, a festive tree ornament, or a decorative drop for a sun-catcher or mobile. CNC and print notes: • On a CNC this reads as a pierced fretwork panel; cut the through-holes with a fine 1-2 mm bit and back it with a contrasting veneer to make the pattern pop. • For resin, print at a slight tilt with the loop uppermost so the lattice drains and cures without trapped resin. • FDM owners should scale up, as the finest bridges are demanding at true jewellery size. • Seal wood or paint it metallic for a filigree-brooch effect.
