Description

A wide-winged butterfly wrapped around a slim band, part ornament, part napkin ring. The piece is a stylised butterfly seen from the front, its four wings fanned open, each panel pierced with elegant teardrop cut-outs and studded along the leading edge with a row of round faceted "gems." The body is a plump segmented spindle topped by two curling antennae that end in little beads. Rather than sitting flat, the whole insect rides on a curved open loop that sweeps back and under, exactly the profile of a napkin ring, curtain-tie or a decorative cuff. It is a cheerful, garden-fresh motif with just enough sparkle from those raised dots to feel dressy. Use it to lift a table setting, tie back light drapes, or simply as a standalone butterfly you can mount on a card or box lid. Print notes: • Orient the band vertically (loop opening up) so the wing fretwork prints across clean layers; add light supports under the antennae and the outermost wing tips. • Resin captures the faceted gems and the crisp teardrop windows best; on FDM use 0.12mm and a small nozzle to keep the cut-outs open. • Check the inner loop diameter against your napkins or rod before slicing and scale to fit. • Snap or sand the support scars on the underside of the band where they will not show, then paint the gems a contrasting metallic to make them pop.
