Description

A smooth, rounded band meets a nest of interlaced bars in this sculptural ring. The main form is a chunky torus — a soft, tube-round loop with a warm, timber-like finish — and fixed to one side is a raised ornamental cluster where short rounded rods weave over and under each other in a tight basketweave lattice. The effect is part Celtic knot, part woven boss, a tactile focal point against the plain sweep of the ring. The scale and thickness read like a statement bangle or a decorative napkin ring, and it would equally suit a chunky pendant or a curtain-tieback accent. It is a lovely piece for anyone who likes organic, knotwork-inspired forms and wants a maker-friendly alternative to metalwork. A few notes for a clean result: • The interlaced cluster has genuine over-and-under gaps, so resin printing gives the sharpest, cleanest weave; on FDM expect to add fine supports under the rods and tidy up afterwards. • Orient the ring so the woven boss faces up and the band arcs cleanly, minimising support scars on the visible surfaces. • The rounded tube sands to a silky finish — work up through the grits and seal if you want that warm wood look, or print in a rich filament and buff. • Check the inner diameter against your wrist (or napkin) and scale before printing. On a lathe-and-router setup the band can also be turned and the knot carved as an applied boss.
