Description

A four-sided pyramid caged around a swirling tangle of interlocking rings. Forget signage — this is a delicate openwork ornament. A square-based pyramid rises to a chunky round bail loop at the apex, and each of its four triangular faces is pierced right through with looping oval rings, half-moons and spirals that overlap into a lace-like screen. Because the walls are cut clean through, you can see the pattern of the far faces layering behind the near ones, which gives the piece real depth. A neat square foot grounds it, and the whole thing glows warmly in the tan render. The hanging loop makes its intent clear: string it up as a decorative ornament, hang it on a tree, or wear it as an oversized statement pendant. Drop an LED tealight or fairy light inside and it doubles as a little light-diffusing shade, throwing patterned shadows across a shelf or windowsill. (Filed under CNC, but this is a 3D-print model.) Print notes: • Resin gives the crispest filigree; on FDM use a small nozzle at ~0.12mm and print it upright, resting on the square base. • The internal openwork will need carefully placed supports — keep them light so the thin ribs don't tear on removal. • Scale up for a lampshade/diffuser, or down for jewellery; a metallic or translucent filament really sells the caged-light effect.
