Description

A crisp piece of Islamic-style geometry: two squares rotated over one another form an eight-point star border, and inside it a lattice of interlaced circles weaves a ring of open roundels around a six-petal rosette at the dead centre. Every line is a clean, even ribbon of stock with fresh air between — a true openwork fretwork panel meant to be seen through, not a solid relief. This STL is built for cutting rather than FDM: run it as a through-cut on a CNC router or laser to make a trivet, a lamp screen that throws patterned shadows, a cabinet-door grille, a wall medallion or a garden privacy insert. The rotational symmetry makes it tile and repeat beautifully if you gang several together. Cut notes: • As a CNC through-cut, add tabs to hold the many small islands in place until the job finishes. • Use a compression or down-cut bit in ply/MDF/acrylic for clean top and bottom edges on the narrow webs. • Mind the thin bridges where circles cross the star — keep material thickness and feed matched so they don't snap. • For lasering, this vector shape is ideal; kerf-check the roundels so they stay round. • Finish in oiled hardwood for a Moorish screen look, or paint acrylic and backlight to project the star onto a wall.
