Description
A teardrop of coiled spirals, worked entirely in openwork. This is a curved paisley- or comma-shaped form whose frame is hollow and filled edge to edge with rows of flat, coiled spirals — the triple-scroll motif you find in Celtic and Bronze-Age metalwork. The broad end tapers to a tail that hooks back over the top like a cresting wave, and the spirals nest in graduated sizes so the eye follows them right around the curve. It is delicate, rhythmic and unmistakably hand-crafted in feel, even as a digital model. A few support pins are visible in the render. Depending on scale it makes a striking statement pendant, a segment for a cuff or bracelet, or a small decorative bracket, finial or drawer pull. Print notes: • Resin SLA/DLP is the way to go — the thin spiral ribbons and open cells need the resolution. • Supports must reach up into the open windows, not just the outer rim; add plenty and remove them gently. • Scale to pendant size first and test one before committing to a batch; the ribbons get fragile if shrunk too far. • Cure fully, then sand the cut support nubs and seal or plate it if you want a metal finish. Thread it, mount it or cast it — the spiral fretwork does all the talking.
