Modernist Arcade Candle Collar

A colonnade curled into a circle — clean windows, sharp corners, no fuss. This is a slim circular band pierced by a repeating row of rectangular openings, each framed by a squared-off upright so the whole piece reads like a tiny modernist arcade bent into a loop. The wall keeps one even thickness the whole way round, the top and bottom rails run unbroken, and a single narrow gap breaks the ring so it reads as an open band rather than a solid tube. It's a genuinely versatile geometric collar. Drop it over a pillar candle or an LED tea-light and it throws a ring of square shadows; use it as a chunky napkin ring for a modern place setting; wrap it around a small plant pot, glass or bud vase; or repurpose the window rhythm as a curtain-pole ring or a stair-rail motif. On a CNC router the grid can be run as a wrapped or flattened panel pattern; as a 3D print it stands up on its own. Print notes • Print upright with the axis vertical for the roundest windows — no supports needed while the openings stay bridged. • CNC: a straight or downcut bit keeps the rectangular corners crisp; clear each pocket in two passes for clean walls. • Scale the diameter to your candle, pot or napkin before slicing — the wall thickness scales with it. • A light chamfer on the outer edges softens the profile and hides layer lines.
