Description

A bare ring setting, waiting for its stone. Look past the CNC/Celtic tags — this is a jewellery mount. A slim, tapering band rises at the front into a six-prong basket head, the rounded claws splayed open to grip and cradle a round gemstone. Along one shoulder of the band runs a line of four graduated round holes, either sizing/weight-relief holes or decorative piercing. The surface is smooth and matte in the render, exactly how a wax or resin casting master looks before polishing. It's aimed at jewellers, casters and hobby makers: print it as a burn-out pattern for lost-wax casting in silver or gold, or use it as a sizing and prong-fit prototype before committing metal. It can also just be printed as a costume or cosplay ring. Print notes • For casting, print in castable resin at the finest layer height (0.025mm) and orient the band so the prongs point up, supported only on the outer claw tips. • Check the seat diameter against your intended stone before printing; the prong basket is sized for one gem and won't stretch. • The thin claws are delicate — cure resin fully and clip supports gently to avoid snapping a prong. • Printing in plastic for a wearable? Add a little band thickness and file the inner ring smooth for comfort.
