Description

A simple band cinched with a knot that bursts into splayed ribbon ends. This is a smooth, rounded ring — an open oval band with a softly bevelled inner edge — caught at one point by a small central knot. From that knot a cluster of slender, dowel-like tendrils fans outward and curls back, like the loose tails of a tied ribbon or a sheaf bound with cord. The forms are clean and tubular with no sharp corners, so the piece reads as playful and tactile rather than fussy. At this scale it works beautifully as a napkin ring for a dressed table, but the same shape suits a curtain tie-back accent, a decorative serviette holder for a wedding or dinner party, or a quirky desk ring to corral cables and bands. Print a matching set for a full table setting. Print notes • Lay the band flat on the plate so the ring itself needs no support; the splayed tails are the only overhangs and take a few light supports at their tips. • Print in a warm wood-fill or natural filament to lean into the tied-cord look, or a bright resin for a modern table. • Scale the inner diameter to your napkins — around 45–50 mm is typical — before slicing. • A quick sand and a satin varnish give the rounded surfaces a pleasant, hand-finished feel.
