Description

A jeweller's ring blank caught mid-build, its bare setting bristling with prongs ready for stones. Despite the code name, the render clearly shows a finger ring, not a flat panel. A smooth tapering band sweeps up from a slim back shank to a wider shoulder, where it carries a compact cluster head. That head is a stack of open round bezels — tube-like collars that would each cradle a gem — surrounded by a fan of stubby cylindrical claws standing proud, exactly the raw prong array a setter files down and beads over a stone. The whole thing has the matte, faceted look of a CAD casting model rather than a finished piece. This is a master pattern for small-scale jewellery work: print it for lost-wax casting, use it as a fit-and-sizing mock-up, or adapt the cluster head to your own stone layout. It is aimed at makers, casters and hobby jewellers rather than wall or furniture decor. Print notes • Castable resin on a high-resolution MSLA printer is essential — the thin prongs and bezel walls need sub-0.05 mm detail. • Orient the band at an angle with the prong cluster uppermost so supports touch only the underside of the shank, never the claw tips. • Keep supports light and hand-removable around the setting to avoid snapping prongs. • Confirm the band's inner diameter against your target ring size before committing wax — scale the whole model, not just the shank.
