Turned Rosette Spindle Baluster

A symmetrical turned spindle with twin urn swells and a carved rosette at its waist. This is a lathe-style baluster profile mirrored top and bottom around a central square block. That block is the highlight — its face carries a concentric spiral rosette, a small carved medallion breaking up the run of curves. Above and below, the timber flares into slender urn-shaped bulges, each defined by clean coves and fillets, and both ends are finished with rings of beading before squaring off into plain mounting stock. The whole thing reads as a classic furniture or joinery component: elegant, restrained and repeatable. It is aimed at furniture makers and restorers — a table or cabinet leg, a stair or gallery baluster, a bed-post section, or a decorative split-spindle glued to a flat panel. Print / CNC notes • On a CNC lathe or 4th-axis this turns cleanly; on a 3-axis router, machine it as two mirrored halves and glue up for a full round. • The rosette block wants a fine ball-nose to keep the spiral crisp — slow the stepover there. • Printing a display copy? Stand it upright and it needs almost no supports, or print halved for a flat glue face; 0.12mm layers smooth the coves. • Square the plain end blocks to your rail dimensions before carving so it drops straight into a frame.
