Description
A classic turned baluster with a full vase belly, crisp ring collars and a slim tapering neck. This is a lathe-style turned spindle rendered as a clean, symmetrical profile. From the bottom it reads as a square plinth block, a stack of stepped bead-and-fillet rings, a swelling urn or vase form, then a long slender neck that tapers up to a small squared tenon at the top. It is the kind of profile you see on Victorian staircases, table and chair legs, bedposts and porch railings — understated, traditional and endlessly repeatable. Use it as a staircase baluster or newel spindle, a furniture leg, a lamp or candlestick column, or a decorative post for a shelf or railing run. Being fully symmetrical, it is one of the easier turned forms to reproduce. Print notes: • Ideal for a CNC lathe or 4th-axis wrap; the rotational profile is all there. • For FDM or resin, print upright along its long axis so the beads and ogees come out round; a brim helps the square base grip the plate. • The vase transitions are self-supporting, but the underside of the top tenon shoulder may want a touch of support. • Match the height to an existing set of balusters before batch-printing, and sand the rings smooth before staining or painting.
