Baroque Acanthus Scroll Pilaster Onlay

A rush of baroque acanthus curling up a slender spindle. This is a tall, narrow decorative carving framed top and bottom by plain square blocks that act as mounting stubs. Between them, a single continuous acanthus scroll climbs the length of the panel: it begins in a tight spiral volute at the foot, unfurls into feathered, deeply undercut leaves through the middle, and finishes in a curling crozier-like tip that nods back on itself at the crown. The relief is generous and the leaf edges are sharply modelled, so light rakes across the folds and gives real depth. A warm gold render underlines its classical, old-world character. It is designed as an applied ornament — a furniture onlay, a stair-baluster face, a decorative pilaster strip, or a raised feature on a door or headboard. Print notes • Equally at home on a CNC router (carve into oak, walnut or MDF) or a resin printer for a paint-and-glue appliqué. • The back is flat, so it mounts directly to a panel; for CNC, run a fine ball-nose bit on the finishing pass to keep the leaf detail. • If FDM printing, lay it face-up and add tree supports under the deepest undercuts. • Prime and gild, or stain to match existing timber, then glue in place.
