Description

A cabriole leg with a whisper of a scroll at the toe. This is a smooth, S-curved furniture leg: it swells at the top into a squarish post block for jointing, sweeps out through a gentle knee, tucks back through a slender ankle, then finishes in a small carved volute foot. The surface is clean and unadorned apart from that scrolled toe, letting the silhouette do the work. It is a leg for occasional tables, consoles, stools, cabinets and chairs in a Queen Anne / French-country register — reproduce four (or a full set) for a build, or a single match for a repair. CNC / print notes: • A true three-dimensional leg: best cut on a 4-axis rotary, or carved front-and-back in two setups on a 3-axis machine and blended by hand. • Turnable-friendly hardwoods — beech, maple, oak, walnut — suit the curve; leave the top block oversized to trim to your apron joinery. • For FDM, print with the axis vertical and supports under the knee's overhang; resin gives the scroll foot the crispest detail at model or dolls-house scale. • Sand along the curve through the grits; the flat top block registers cleanly against a rail.
