Description

A tall turned column leg with the poise of a temple pillar, dressed top and bottom in carved petals. The shaft tapers gently from a broad shoulder down to a slim waist, its face broken by long, shallow flutes that draw the eye vertically. Crowning it is a ring of upright petal-tips beneath a small collared capital and a beaded cap; the foot answers with a fuller sunburst of overlapping leaves seated on a turned bulb and a stacked bead-and-reel base. It is a symmetrical, in-the-round turning meant to be seen from every side. This suits table and console legs, bed posts, cabinet pilasters, or a decorative newel and lamp column. Four of them make a coherent set for a side table or plant stand; a single one reads happily as a candle stand or plinth. Making notes • Model is fully three-dimensional, so machine on a 4th-axis / rotary setup, or split down the centre line and mirror-glue two halves. • FDM printers should stand it upright and lean on a fine layer height to keep the flutes and petal edges sharp; add a light brim for the narrow base. • Resin prints beautifully at desk scale for dolls-house or model furniture. • Sand the flutes with a folded strip of paper, then seal before staining so the carved leaves don't blotch.
