Description

A griffin rears mid-roar, one great feathered wing thrown back behind it. This is a heraldic relief onlay carved in crisp low-to-medium relief. The beast is shown in profile: a snarling big-cat head with a pointed ear and open mouth, a curved, scrolled foreleg raised in the rampant pose, a broad haunch and clawed hind foot, and a tail tucked beneath. The star of it is the wing — layered rows of feathers sweeping upward and out in a bold fan, catching light across every quill. The back is flat so it sits flush against whatever you mount it to. It's built for furniture and architecture: a cabinet or wardrobe door, a headboard, a fireplace surround, a newel post cap, or simply a proud heraldic plaque on the wall. Print / CNC notes: • Cut from a solid hardwood such as oak, walnut or cherry, or a paint-grade MDF for a gilded finish. • Rough the mass with a ball-nose bit, then chase the feather edges and face with a fine tapered V-bit. • Machine flat, back-face down, on a single blank. • Mirror the toolpath to produce a matching left- and right-facing pair for flanking a door or mantel.
