Description

A robed maiden carved to shoulder the weight of a table. This is a caryatid-style furniture leg: a slender standing female figure crowned with a shallow basket-capital on her head — the seat for whatever she supports — her hair falling in long straight locks past her shoulders. Soft drapery gathers across her chest and knots at the waist before flowing down into a smooth, tapering column of a gown. At the foot the carving resolves into a classical paw-and-ball, so the whole leg reads as one elegant taper from capital to claw. It belongs on period-style furniture: a console table, cabinet, pedestal or a decorative newel, used singly as a feature or in matched sets around a piece. Print notes • Print or carve it vertically; it's a tall, narrow model, so a wide, well-adhered base or brim keeps it stable. • On a 4-axis CNC this is a rotary job — for a 3-axis router or FDM, split it front/back or run it as a deep half-relief against a flat back. • FDM: 0.12mm layers hold the face and drapery folds; add light supports under the chin, the basket rim and the paw feet. • Treat the face carefully — sand and seal before staining so the features don't blotch.
