Description

A soft, sculptural paw caught mid-press. This model is a smooth organic study of an animal's lower leg and foot, a rounded column that swells gently downward and splits into a cluster of plump, toe-like lobes at the base, like a padded paw settling into the ground. There's no fur texture or claw detail; it's a pared-back, almost cartoonish form built from soft volumes and the shadowed creases between the toes, which gives it a friendly, tactile quality. Depending on scale it works as a chunky furniture foot or table-leg finial, a stylised paw prop, a paperweight, or a sculpting reference for character artists. Grouped in fours it could lift a small stool or plinth off the floor. Print notes • The broad top makes a stable flat base, so print toes-down, top-up, and it needs no supports. • FDM handles the smooth surfaces well; use 0.12-0.16mm layers and gyroid or solid infill if it'll bear weight. • The gentle curves sand and prime beautifully for a painted or lacquered finish. • For CNC it's a rotary 3D-carve or a two-half glue-up; a ball-nose finishing pass keeps the lobes clean. • Scale up for furniture use and sink a threaded insert into the top face for mounting.
