Description

A cascade of carved scrollwork that turns a shelf or mantel into a proper architectural feature. This tall corbel reads as a single sweeping S-curve: a fat volute scroll spirals inward at the very top like a breaking wave, then the whole body flows downward through overlapping acanthus leaves and fine incised curls before settling on a plump five-petal flower rosette near the base. Small carved beads and tucked-in leaf tips fill the negative spaces, and the deep relief throws strong shadows that make the piece look hand-carved. Fit it under a mantel shelf, a countertop overhang or a cabinet cornice as a decorative bracket, or mount a mirrored pair to flank a doorway or fireplace. It works as pure ornament even where it is not load-bearing. CNC and finishing notes: • The model is a one-sided relief with a flat back, ideal for a 3-axis router or an FDM printer laid on its back face. • Rough with a 6mm ball-nose, then finish with a 2-3mm tapered ball to reach into the scroll's tight inner curl. • Beech, oak or tulipwood carve cleanly; for a painted look, MDF sealed with sanding sealer takes the detail well. • Printed in PLA, run a fine layer height and a coat of filler-primer, then sand the scroll faces before paint or gilding.
