A slender, classically turned furniture leg finished with a breath of hand-carved leaf-work. Don't let the CNC code fool you — the render shows a single tapered furniture leg, not a lattice panel. It rises from a narrow spade-style foot, swells gently through the shaft, and blooms at the upper knee into a small carved cartouche: a pair of scrolled volutes above a downward-hanging acanthus or tulip leaf. The rest of the shaft is left smooth and round, so the ornament reads as a deliberate accent rather than clutter. It's the kind of leg you'd see under an occasional table, a console, a bench, or a small cabinet in a traditional or French-provincial register. Makers use a model like this to replace a broken original, to build a matched set of four, or to add period character to a plain flat-pack piece. Because the decorative zone is shallow and the body is a simple turned profile, it suits a 3-axis router with a ballnose finishing pass, or a rotary-axis setup for a fully-in-the-round result. Print / cut notes • Carve in a tight-grained hardwood (maple, beech, cherry) so the volutes hold crisp edges. • Rough with a large endmill, then finish the carved knee with a 2–3mm ballnose at a fine stepover. • If you FDM or resin print instead, stand it upright and split at the knee to avoid supports across the carving. • Sand the round shaft progressively and leave the leaf recesses slightly matte to catch shadow.
