Description

An ornate cabriole-style furniture leg carved top to toe in classical detail. The model is a tall, tapering table or cabinet leg with a graceful S-curve profile. Up near the squared top block sits a carved cartouche — a shield-like medallion framed by acanthus scrolls with a beaded pendant of berries — while the shaft narrows through a smooth reeded curve down to a small carved leaf-and-fan flourish just above the turned foot. The modelling is crisp and rounded, clearly built to be read at full furniture scale. This is a functional decorative component: one of a matched set of four for a console, coffee table, cabinet, stool or dresser, lending flat-pack or bespoke furniture a Louis-XV / French-provincial character. It can also stand in as a baluster, a lamp-base column or a plinth support. Cut and print notes: • For CNC this suits 4-axis or rotary carving to wrap the ornament around the front and sides; a 3-axis machine can do a single decorated face for a wall-side leg. • Finish with a fine ball-nose to bring up the cartouche and acanthus veining. • Hardwoods such as beech, oak or walnut give a load-bearing leg the strength it needs. • For 3D printing, stand it upright with a brim and support only the top acanthus overhang. Scale the height to your build and print four matching copies.
