Description

A classic turned leg with a fluted, tulip-carved foot. This slender furniture leg runs from a square mounting block at the top into a gently swelling vase profile, then steps down through a crisp ring collar into a fluted, petal-carved section that tapers to a small turned foot. The proportions are elegant and traditional — the kind of leg you would expect beneath a hall table, side table or a fine cabinet. It suits furniture makers and restorers reproducing a period look, or anyone lifting a plain build with something that reads as hand-turned. Make one and mirror it four times for a matched set. Cut / print notes • Designed for a CNC lathe or 4-axis rotary setup; a rounding pass then a detail ball-nose bring out the flutes and the tulip base. • In beech, oak or maple the fluting stays crisp — take light finishing passes to avoid tear-out on the end grain. • No lathe? Split the model down the vertical axis, print it in halves, then glue and fill the seam for a paint-grade blank. • Leave the top block square and slightly oversized so you can trim it to your apron joinery.
