Acanthus Fluted Pilaster Leg

A slender carved leg with acanthus flourishes at head and foot, furniture ornament with an Old-World spine. Rather than a flat tray, the image shows a tall, narrow vertical member: a rounded column with a plain, softly fluted central shaft framed by fine bead lines, capped at the top by a symmetrical acanthus-scroll ornament and finished at the bottom in a downward-pointing leafy foot. The carving stays shallow and quiet along the shaft, then deepens into the leaf clusters at each end where light catches the rolls.
