Banded Strongbox Chest With Lid

A dungeon strongbox that begs to be pried open. This model captures a heavy rectangular chest built as two clean parts — a deep base and a gently domed lid that lifts free — plus a single spiked rivet detail floating above for separate printing. The front face breaks into four recessed panels divided by raised ribs, each stamped with an arrowhead clasp, while chunky reinforced braces wrap every corner like riveted iron banding. It reads as rugged, weathered and built to guard treasure. Tabletop gamers will recognise it instantly as loot: drop it into a Dungeons & Dragons vault, use it as a Warhammer objective marker, or set it out as a supply cache on a skirmish board. Because the lid is separate you can leave it ajar, glue it shut, or hollow the interior to stash dice, tokens or a tiny hoard of printed coins. Off the game table it happily becomes a trinket box or a themed desk caddy. Print notes: • Print the base and lid flat on their open faces — the geometry is largely support-free that way, with only the clasps needing a few touch supports. • Resin gives the crispest banding and rivets; FDM at 0.12mm handles it well for terrain use. • Scale to suit 28–32mm heroes, or blow it up for a full-size prop or a real storage box. • Hollow the base before slicing if you want a working container, and glue the little rivet detail on last.
