Weathered Blank Parchment Scroll

An empty scroll waiting for your own proclamation. This model is a fully unfurled sheet of aged parchment, held open top and bottom by a pair of turned wooden dowels capped with rounded finials. The sheet itself is the star: its long edges are frayed and torn, chewed away in irregular nibbles and split cracks, while the surface bows and ripples as though it has been rolled tight for centuries. The centre is left deliberately smooth and blank, giving you a clean field to carve, engrave or leave plain. It is a natural fit for fantasy tavern signage, gaming table props, a hand-lettered menu board, a wedding table plan, or a shop-front notice with real theatrical character. Carve a name, a poem or a set of house rules into the open panel and the torn framing does the atmospheric work for you. Print / carve notes • Runs best as a low-relief carving on a flat blank; a 6mm or smaller ball-nose gives soft, believable folds through the ripples. • Rough with a larger end mill, then finish the ragged edges and dowel detail with a fine tapered bit for crisp tears. • Lime, poplar or basswood carve cleanly; the smooth centre panel takes paint or pyrography well if you want to add lettering afterwards. • Orient the sheet face-up and flat to the bed so the finials and torn edges keep their crisp shadow lines.
