Scroll-Bracket Banner Sign Blank

A long banner-shaped sign blank with a bit of theatrical flourish at both ends. The overall footprint is wide and horizontal; the top edge dips in a shallow double-hump with a small notch at the centre, and the two ends curl outward into ogee brackets that echo an old ribbon or a carved cartouche. A thin raised border runs the whole way round, framing a slightly recessed field with a soft sandblasted texture across it. Everything about the shape says "add your text here." It is designed as a base plate for a business or shop sign, a bar or games-room banner, a memorial or dedication plate, or a decorative header above a doorway. The gentle surface tooth means paint and stain grip well and the field stays visually distinct from the polished rim. Useful notes for making it: • On a CNC router, machine it flat and finish the field with a fine tool pass; the bracket ends carve cleanly in oak, walnut or poplar. • If you 3D print it, lay it flat on the bed so the raised border prints without supports, then paint the recessed field a contrasting colour and wipe the rim back to bare material. • The proportions are made to be scaled; stretch the length to suit a longer name without redrawing the ornamental ends. • Pair it with separate raised letters or a v-carved inscription for a crisp two-layer sign.
