Coffee Cup and Beans Medallion

A whole café packed into one carved disc. This circular relief centres a plump coffee cup resting on its saucer, the surface swirled with a soft crema ripple, tucked inside a spray of coffee-plant leaves with clearly cut veins. Along the lower arc a loose heap of roasted beans spills across the field, and the whole scene sits within a double stepped rim that frames it like a coin. The modelling is gentle and rounded rather than sharp, so raking light picks out the leaf edges and the lip of the cup beautifully. It is made for a kitchen or coffee-corner wall, a café counter, or as a small gift for the household barista. Hang it flat, prop it on a plate rail, or inset it into a cabinet door. Print / cut notes: • 2.5D relief — rough with a straight bit, then finish leaf veins with a fine V-bit and the cup curves with a tapered ball-nose. • Cuts cleanly in beech or maple; MDF works if you plan to paint. Keep passes shallow around the thin rim step. • On FDM it prints well as a flat-backed plaque at roughly 4–6 mm relief depth, no supports if laid face-up. • A walnut stain wiped back, or a coffee-brown wax buffed off the highlights, exaggerates the depth nicely.
