Cascading Roses Trellis Panel

A cascade of carved roses spilling across a woven garden trellis. This CNC relief fills an arch-topped panel with a crisscross diagonal lattice, and tucked into two opposite corners sit full-bloom roses wrapped in serrated leaves and tight buds. The petals are cut in deep, layered relief so each flower stands proud of the background weave, catching light on its curled edges and dropping soft shadow into the recesses behind. It reads as a classic decorative insert — the kind of piece that drops into a cabinet door, a bed headboard centrepiece, a jewellery-box lid, or a romantic hallway plaque. The rounded top and tidy raised border make it easy to seat into framed or rebated joinery without extra trimming. Print notes: • Cuts cleanest in tight-grained hardwood (oak, cherry, tulipwood) or dense MDF if you plan to paint. • Rough the field with an end mill, then switch to a 2–3mm tapered ball-nose to finish the petals and lattice crossings crisply. • Machine it flat on the spoilboard; the carving is single-sided, so no re-fixturing is needed. • Sand lightly, then wipe on a dark stain or glaze and pull it back off the high spots — the roses leap forward once the lattice grooves hold the colour. Scale it down for a drawer front or up for a statement over-door panel; the composition holds either way.
