Description

A steaming symbol of hospitality, frozen in carved relief. This panel depicts a traditional Russian samovar in generous depth: a fluted, urn-shaped body swelling out over a tall pedestal foot, crowned by a domed lid with a turned finial cap. Two little knobbed handles perch on the shoulder ring, and a scrolled spigot tap juts from the side, its curling bracket and drip-spout modelled with real dimensionality. Beaded bands circle the neck and base, and the whole vessel rests on stubby ball feet beneath a stepped plinth. It reads instantly as a piece of folk warmth, ideal above a kitchen range, in a tea room, on a café wall, or as a gift for anyone who loves ritual and a proper brew. The bold, rounded forms catch raking light beautifully, so it works as a single feature carving rather than a busy pattern. Print / cut notes • Single-sided relief with a flat back — carve straight into a hardwood blank (oak or walnut take the fluting crisply) or 3D print laid on its back face. • The undercuts beneath the tap bracket and shoulder handles are the tricky spots: use a tapered ball-nose for the CNC finishing pass, or add light supports there for FDM. • Finish with a walnut stain and dark wax buffed back on the high points to fake aged brass; a gilt wax highlight on the lid looks superb. • Scale it anywhere from a 150 mm plaque to a fireplace-sized centrepiece.
