Description

A woodworker's hand plane, immortalised mid-shaving — a little emblem of the craft. The golden render reads clearly as a stylised bench plane seen in profile, all its parts distilled onto a single rounded plinth base: a domed front knob at the left, the iron poking up at an angle, and a tall rear tote handle on the right with its characteristic open eye. Rising from the mouth between them is the piece's charmer — a tight spiral shaving curling up off the blade, exactly as it does when a sharp plane whispers across timber. It's part relief sculpture, part maker's badge, compact and self-contained on its rounded bar of a base. This is a gift and a display object for anyone who loves working wood: a desk ornament for a joiner or cabinetmaker, a shelf token for a home workshop, a plaque for a shed door, or a topper for a woodworking-club trophy. It celebrates hand-tool craft in miniature. Print / cut notes: • The delicate curling shaving and the thin blade are the fragile bits — cut or print them slightly thicker, and support the spiral so it doesn't sag. • On CNC, a fine ball-nose finishes the tote eye and the shaving curl; a hardwood keeps those thin sections intact. • Printing? Lay it on its back face-up for the smoothest front and easiest supports, or split the tote handle to print it standing. • Stain or leave it in natural timber to lean into the woodworking theme. Scales neatly from a keyring charm up to a shelf-sized ornament.
