Acanthus C-Scroll Furniture Onlay

Classic acanthus scrollwork, sculpted in full relief. This is an ornamental onlay — the kind of carved flourish you'd find crowning a piece of furniture or tucked under a mantel. Broad acanthus leaves flow outward and curl back into deep C-scrolls at each end, the lobes rolling over one another with sculpted channels and hollows running between them. It's roughly symmetrical, built to sit as a decorative appliqué where a plain surface needs a touch of the baroque. Use it as a furniture crest, a door or cabinet embellishment, a picture-frame corner, or a repeated motif along a cornice. It reads equally well carved in timber or printed and mounted. Print / CNC notes • On a CNC router, cut it in a close-grained hardwood with a ball-nose finishing pass to round the leaf lobes cleanly; leave tabs and part it out last. • Printing instead? Resin captures the scroll detail beautifully; on FDM, tilt the model and add supports for the undercut curls, then sand the visible face. • Finish to match its home: stain and wax for wood, or prime and gild/antique the relief to pop the leaf edges against a darker recessed ground. Mirror it left-and-right for balanced pairs on cabinet doors or bed frames.
