It is a versatile decorative medallion for CNC routing — set it into a cabinet door, a chest lid, a bedpost panel, or a rosette block for door casing, or rout it larger as a standalone wall plaque. The symmetrical layout means it reads well at any rotation and pairs easily with linear moulding. Cut notes • Rough the four pockets with a ball-nose bit, then finish with a fine stepover for the smooth, dished walls. • A tapered ball-nose reaches cleanly into the narrow channels between quadrants without gouging the rims. • Hardwoods like oak, walnut or maple hold the crisp ring edges best; seal end grain before finishing. • Scale the depth to suit your stock — a shallower relief suits inlay, a deeper cut suits a bold standalone roundel.
