Carved Pinecone Wall Ornament

Nature's spiral, carved in the round. This is a plump, naturalistic pinecone rendered as a decorative carving, layer upon layer of overlapping, veined scales spiralling from a broad crown down to a neatly bound stem that gathers into a little tied bundle of stalks. The scales curl and lift at their tips, catching light along their ridged centres, so the whole form reads soft and organic rather than stiff.
