Description

A calm open palm, raised in quiet greeting and cast in a single graceful gesture. Despite the workshop code on the label, this model is a life-study of a human hand rather than any routed tray. The fingers press gently together, the thumb tucks to the side, and the whole palm lifts forward as if offering a hello or a blessing. It rises from a low circular plinth that keeps everything upright and steady, so the sculpture stands on its own with no armature. The sculpt captures real anatomy: subtle tendon ridges running toward each knuckle, softened finger joints, and the shallow hollow of the palm. It works beautifully as a small statement sculpture on a shelf or desk, and doubles as a practical ring and bracelet stand — slide rings down the fingers or drape a chain over the thumb. Milliners and cosplayers also use printed hands like this as a mannequin prop for gloves or small display work. Print notes • Print upright on the base; the fingers are largely self-supporting at this angle, but add light tree supports beneath the thumb if you tilt the model. • Resin gives the cleanest tendon and nail detail; FDM at 0.12mm with fine walls also reads well once lightly sanded. • Scale to taste — around 120–150mm tall makes a convincing display piece; print hollow with a drain hole in the base to save resin. • A matt stone, bronze, or plaster-effect finish suits the classical mood; a coat of filler primer hides layer lines before painting.
