Description

A friendly oversized button, rendered with such clarity you can almost feel the thread. It is the classic four-hole sew-through: a broad rounded rim rises around the edge, the face dishes gently inward to a flat central plateau, and four evenly spaced holes punch clean through the middle in a neat square. The concentric ridges on the outer rim give it that turned, moulded look of a real coat button scaled way up. At display size it is a charmingly literal object, a jumbo button for a shop window, a cosplay coat, a teddy-bear brooch, or a tactile learning prop for teaching little ones to thread and count. Shrink it and it is a genuine functional replacement fastener; the four holes are true through-holes ready for cotton. It also makes a sweet knob for a fabric-lined box or a sewing-room drawer. Print notes • Lay it flat, holes vertical, so all four bores print clean and round with no supports anywhere. • Keep an eye on the first-layer squish, the dished face reads best when the bottom is crisp; a smooth or textured PEI plate transfers a nice finish to the underside. • For a working button, check the hole diameter against your needle and thread and enlarge slightly if needed. • FDM in a matte filament mimics horn or wood; resin gives it a glassy, moulded-plastic sheen. Great as a colour-swap multi-print in bulk.
