Description

A grand framed grille that hides a radiator or vent behind a wall of ornament. The centre of this rectangular panel is a pierced diamond lattice — an open harlequin trellis that lets air pass while screening whatever sits behind it. Around it runs a stepped moulded frame, dressed at all four corners with fan-shaped acanthus ornaments and crowned top and bottom by symmetrical shell-and-leaf cartouches with little pendant drops. A slim shelf lip caps the top edge, reinforcing the built-in-cabinetry look. This is the classic decorative radiator cover, but the same panel works as a cabinet-door insert, an HVAC return-air screen, a boot-room bench front or a room-divider section. The mix of open lattice and dense corner carving gives it presence without feeling heavy. Cutting & print notes • The lattice is a true through-cut: pocket or drill the diamonds, then profile them clean — a job well suited to CNC through-cutting or a laser on flat stock. • The frame and cartouches are relief work; run them with a ball-nose and a separate V-bit pass for the crisp leaf veins. • It is a large piece — plan to tile the STL across the bed or scale to your opening, and treat the corner ornaments as separate reliefs if your work area is tight. • Keep an air gap behind the lattice for airflow if it is genuinely covering a radiator, and finish with a heat-tolerant paint or wax. A statement panel that turns an eyesore into joinery.
