Description

A square of frozen ripples — light pools and slides across a field of rolling waves. This is a decorative 3D wall panel. Its surface is worked into horizontal rows of lens-shaped swells, each row offset from the one above so the eye reads a continuous, undulating current — somewhere between wind-rippled sand, flowing water and a woven basket weave. The forms are soft and rounded with no sharp edges, which is exactly why it catches raking light so well, throwing gentle gradients of shadow between the crests. A thin flat border frames the pattern. It is designed as a tileable feature-wall element: butt several together for a full accent wall, a headboard backdrop, a reception or bar front, or drop a single tile into a cabinet door or shadow box. Cut notes • The whole field is smooth curvature, so machine it with a ball-nose using a fine stepover — the finer the pass, the more seamless the sheen. • MDF, poplar or foam board all carve cleanly; prime and spray for a moulded look, or leave timber natural. • Check that the wave phase lines up edge-to-edge before tiling so the pattern flows unbroken across seams. • For 3D printing, a 0.12–0.16mm layer height keeps the crests smooth; print flat, no supports needed. A fast way to add sculptural texture to an otherwise plain surface.
