Description

A tumbling field of carved leaf-scrolls, edge to edge across one square panel. This is a decorative relief tile in full baroque flourish: acanthus leaves, curling tendrils and comma-shaped scrolls interweave across the whole surface with almost no flat ground left. The carving reads as a soft, rounded damask, foliage rolling over foliage, lit here in warm tan so you can see how the depth shifts from raised leaf tips down into shadowed grooves. It's a classic old-world ornamental pattern, the kind you'd find on a panelled door, a fireplace surround or an antique cabinet front. Meant primarily for CNC routing into hardwood or MDF, it also works as a resin-cast decor tile or a 3D-printed accent. Repeat it as a run of matching panels for wainscoting, set a single tile as a headboard centrepiece, or frame one as standalone wall art. CNC / print notes • Rough with a larger end mill, then finish the scroll detail with a fine tapered ball nose to keep the rounded relief crisp. • Grain direction matters on solid timber, orient so the long tendrils run with, not across, delicate fibres to avoid tear-out. • For 3D printing, lay it flat and print face-up; a 0.12mm layer height captures the gentle depth transitions. • A dark stain wiped back, or a gilt highlight on the raised leaves, dramatically enhances the light-and-shadow play. Sized to tile seamlessly for larger continuous surfaces.
