Description

A dense bloom of carved petals, packed corner to corner. This CNC relief panel is a busy floral field: several large stylised flowers — daisy- or zinnia-like, built from rows of overlapping teardrop petals radiating around spiky starburst centres — crowd the surface, with slim pointed leaves fanning through the gaps in the upper corner. The petals are layered at different depths so the carving has real dimensionality, throwing soft shadows between the overlapping tiers. It is designed as a decorative face panel: a cabinet or wardrobe door insert, a headboard centre, a wall-art tile, a jewellery-box lid, or a repeating module in a larger feature wall. The all-over composition means there is no obvious "empty" background — the whole surface is worked, which reads as lush and tactile from across a room. Cut it in timber for genuine furniture and joinery, or 3D-print it as a lightweight appliqué to paint and mount. Cut / print notes • CNC: rough with a large end mill, then finish with a tapered ball-nose (2mm or finer) to carve cleanly down into the tight petal valleys and starburst points. • Mind the steep petal walls — a smaller stepover on the finish pass keeps them smooth rather than ridged. • 3D print flat, relief-up, with no supports; 0.12mm layers hold the petal edges crisp. • Sand the raised petal tops lightly and leave the recesses darker, or apply a wash, to make the layered depth pop.
