Description

A field of interlocking stars, cut clean through so light can pour past. This square panel is a repeating lattice: six-pointed stars and slim triangular pockets locking together into a honeycomb-like grid, the kind of hypnotic geometry you find in Moorish jali screens. The top and bottom edges finish in a sawtooth zigzag so multiple panels stack vertically into a seamless run, and the whole surface is faceted rather than flat, giving each little star a chiselled, gem-cut feel. It earns its keep as a decorative screen: a radiator cover, a cabinet-door insert, a ventilation grille, a room divider, or a backlit wall feature. Place a light source behind it and the pierced triangles throw a scatter of star-shaped shadows across the wall — lovely behind an LED strip or a candle safe-guarded in glass. Print / CNC notes • The pattern is pierced, so decide between full through-cuts (a true screen) or blind pockets (a solid decorative tile). • Nest the sawtooth edges when tiling so the join disappears into the pattern. • Plywood and MDF cut fast; acrylic gives a crisp backlit glow. • Climb-cut the small triangles for clean walls, and leave onion-skin tabs on through-cuts so parts do not lift into the bit. • For backlighting, keep the panel thin enough that the pockets read as bright points.
