Scrolled Acanthus Rosette Medallion

A carved sunburst of scrolls circling a blooming centre — the ornament that turns a plain door into a statement. This round rosette is built in tidy radial symmetry: an eight-lobed scalloped outer frame, a ring of paired C-scrolls that curl toward one another like breaking waves, and small acanthus fronds tucked between the lobes. At the heart sits a raised boss ringed by eight fat, rope-edged petals, giving the whole piece a strong shadow-catching relief. It reads as classic European cabinetry ornament — a natural centre appliqué for a wardrobe door, headboard, fireplace overmantel or ceiling rose. Because the design is fully radial it holds up equally well as a standalone medallion or repeated down a run of matched panels. Cut / print notes • On a CNC router, cut the scroll valleys with a tapered ball-nose and add a light finishing pass to keep the petal edges crisp. • Hardwoods like oak, walnut or tulipwood take the fine scroll detail best; MDF is fine for painted finishes. • Set clear step-downs so the tool doesn't dwell in the deep centre boss and scorch. • For resin or FDM printing, lay it flat face-up with no supports — the relief is single-sided and self-supporting.
