Four-Petal Rosette Furniture Appliqué

A carved bloom that turns a plain cabinet door into something that looks a century old. The design is a symmetrical four-petal rosette worked in deep relief. At its heart sits a raised domed boss, ringed with concentric turned grooves, and from behind it fan out layered acanthus and oak-leaf fronds with lively lobed edges. Four broad, rounded petals fill the diagonals, giving the piece a full, cushioned silhouette with plenty of light-and-shadow drama across the carving. This is a classic furniture applique — the sort of ornament glued or pinned onto flat surfaces to add hand-carved character. It suits cabinet doors, headboards, blanket chests, mantel centres and mirror frames, and looks equally at home in oak, walnut or a painted finish.
